Several of you have asked for more details about the work of Prof Barry Carpenter having read the article in the latest TLS (TLS 2 Jan 2010). He is only just at the beginning of a two year DCSF funded study so will keep you updated here on anything that comes out. But in the meantime these are the slides he used at the SSAT conference in November, which the TLS article draws on. The key issue here is what implications this has for the way we plan for SEN both in individually in the classroom but also at a strategic level in departments and whole college.
